Spring violin recital

Emma has been taking violin lessons for a year and a half now.  Today was her second spring recital, and she did SO good!  She has really grown in her ability since the last recital.  If she was nervous, it didn't show.  She got up in front of the crowd all by herself, and played her two pieces.  I am so proud of her!

Emma and Kate Elizabeth wait for the recital to start!

Look at that great form!

Baby robins

A few days ago, we noticed a nest of robin eggs in the bush in the back yard.  There were 4.  We watched them all week.  They started hatching today.  As of bedtime, three have hatched.  Shane held the kiddos up so they could all peek in at the nest this afternoon.  It will be fun to watch them grow!

The rest of Valentine's Day

When the girls got home from school, it was time to check out all of their goodies!

And that evening, we took the kids to Pizza Inn!  We had a few Valentine's treats for them as well!

Nana went with us because Papa was on a mission trip to Haiti.  And lookie what Nana made...our favorite chocolate cake.  The girls could not have been happier!

The girls Valentine's Day parties

Morgan had her kindergarten Valentine's party today.  Since we can no longer send candy, we were limited to the simple, traditional card.  Morgan did, however, pick out cards with Barbie tattoos.  My girl loves the temporary tattoos!  I also send a bag of the heart-shaped crayons I made.

I was quite excited that the kids got to have pizza at their party!

Since both girls are at the same school now, I have to divide my time between their classes when I go to parties!  Emma's party was already in full swing by the time I got to her room.  She took cute little cards that came with purple heart jelly bracelets.

In the past, the school has done CandyGrams...Valentine's you could purchase that included a heart shaped sucker.  But since candy isn't allowed this year, they switched to Smencils...pencils that are scented.  Both girls received them from us, my parents, Shane's parents, and Julie's family.  Emma also got one from a few friends.
