After we left Charleston on Saturday, we drove up the coast to Surfside Beach. We stayed at the Days Inn at the Surfside Pier. It took us a while to get to the hotel though because they were having the Surfside Beach Christmas parade...which passed right in front of our hotel!
When we finally got to our rooms, we were able to take a quick break before heading out again. We went to the Hot Fish Club in Murrels Inlet for dinner. Then we went to Brookgreen Gardens for their annual candle walk. It was SO pretty. I think the kids even liked it as much at the James Island Festival of Lights...if not more! All of the paths were lit with candles in bags. And they had candles just about everywhere you could possible put one! They even had candles floating in the reflection ponds. It was gorgeous. They had also decorated the trees with lights.
The kids really liked the Children's Garden. It was lit with colored lights...very cute!
I think my favorite thing was the lighted crescent moons they had hung in several of the palmetto trees...just like our state flag.
