Well, here it is...the last day of 2009!
We started today out by sleeping in! We totally lucked out with kids that sleep well! The girls slept until 8:45, and Ryan slept later than that! We were pretty lazy during the morning. It was nice to be able to hang out around the house as a family. We are usually on the go...so the downtime was nice.
For dinner, we headed to Outback with my family. We had a call ahead for 5:30. We thought that would be early enough. We were SO wrong. Shane sat in the van with the kids while I went inside with my family to wait. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. That 30 minutes turned into over an hour. It was SO crowded! But we saw lots of people we knew! We saw Jim and Lisa Raymond and their kids Hannah and Jensen. Lisa is my mom's first cousin. We also saw Rachel and Puddleduck. Rachel is mom's aunt. And we saw some friends from church. It helped pass a little time!
After dinner, we went back to Julie's house to hang out. We let the kiddos do a few sparklers. It was cold and rainy, so we didn't stay outside long. But they had fun!
My mom was spending the night with Julie because Jason was out of town. So they let Emma and Morgan spend the night with them. They had a slumber party. When Shane and I left with Ryan they were camped out in front of a movie with some popcorn. Mom said the girls made it to midnight!
Shane and I came home and put Ryan to bed. We were huge party animals after that...NOT! We watched the countdown on Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve!
It has been a good year! We have three healthy, beautiful children. We have wonderful family and friends. We are part of an incredible church family. Shane is doing well with his job. And I am still fortunate to be able to stay home with our kids. God has truly blessed us!
